About The Position

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Mailstar Operations Team as a Computer Operator. This is a 90-day temporary position which could lead to a full-time opportunity. We have a 3rd shift opening from 12:00 am to 8:00 am, Monday - Friday. Responsibilities include operating a computer console, peripheral devices, and computer support devices under general supervision.

Requirements

• Must be willing to work an assigned shift.

Nice To Haves

• A high school education and computer operator education or related job experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer operations and operating environment for applications programs and operating software desired.
• Ability to understand and follow complex verbal or written programs.
• A desire to develop further through internal and external study programs.

Responsibilities

• Interprets console messages from system software and application programs and performs required action.
• Observes ongoing operations and analyzes performance to identify problems and inform appropriate personnel.
• Operates peripheral devices and computer support devices.
• Maintains knowledge about the operating characteristics, maintenance requirements of peripheral devices, computer operating procedures and standards.
• Assists with other duties as assigned within the department or elsewhere on request.
