2027 Internship - Computer Engineer, Shipboard Systems Group
About The Position
We are seeking a Computer Engineering intern ready to take on new challenges with us as we seek to modernize our approach to data analysis and visualization. You will join a team of multidisciplinary staff who are developing innovative approaches for analyzing performance of deployed and future strategic deterrent weapon systems. As a member of our team, you will learn and maintain our legacy software applications with an eye towards modernization. You will prototype innovative approaches to manage and present data, applying database and engineering tools such as SQL Server, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and integrating Artificial Intelligence. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop sensor and data acquisition systems to support data collection during in-house and field testing. You will work with software engineers and analysts to develop software in an Agile team setting using GitLab, Jira, etc. You will prepare technical reports and brief presentations to internal staff and sponsors.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in multiple programming languages including C++, C#, Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, etc.
- A passion for programming and analysis and are excited to learn about databases and visualization techniques.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.
Nice To Haves
- Previous professional experience (e.g., internships) as a Computer or Software Engineer, particularly with a focus on databases and/or visualization.
- Experience with Machine Learning applications.
- An active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
