About The Position

Prescient Edge is seeking a Computer Engineer IV to support a federal government client. This role involves research, design, development, and testing of computer hardware and software programs. Responsibilities include working with computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and related equipment. The role also entails developing software systems that control computers, analyzing user needs, and designing, constructing, testing, and maintaining computer applications software or systems. This can include operating systems, network distribution, and compilers. Problem-solving and algorithm development are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks.
• Master's level degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science.
• Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and test computer hardware and software programs.
• Work with computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and related equipment.
• Develop software systems that control computers.
• Analyze user needs and design, construct, test, and maintain computer applications software or systems.
• Incorporate new technologies into a rapidly growing range of applications.
• Solve technical problems that arise.
• Develop algorithms and analyze and solve programming problems.
• Supervise the manufacturing and installation of computers and computer-related equipment (for hardware engineers).
