About The Position

This is an open-pooled position for a Computed Tomography Technologist. Applicants' education and experience will be considered, and the position may be filled at a lower or higher level as appropriate. The role involves working independently to complete routine and complex diagnostic CT procedures, providing direct assistance to physicians, and delivering exceptional patient care while adhering to safety and radiation dose standards. The position is part of the direct patient care team and requires a Monday-Friday work schedule from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. For the CT Technologist II level, this role also includes mentoring and training junior technologists and students.

Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science OR Graduate of an accredited radiography program (Individuals who graduated from an accredited radiography program prior to 2015 are exempt from the Associate’s Degree requirement).
  • Graduate of an accredited computed tomography program (to include UTMB cross-training program).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NMTCB(CT) or must be eligible for ARRT(CT) or NMTCB(CT) certification and obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Texas Medical Board certification (MRT)
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • 3+ years of experience (for CT Technologist II)

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in all CT, CTA, CT Perfusion, CT Cardiac and CT Interventional procedures (for CT Technologist I, this is a requirement for CT Technologist II)

Responsibilities

  • Works independently to complete a variety of routine diagnostic CT procedures.
  • Completes common and special CT exams of moderate complexity.
  • Provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special CT procedures.
  • Delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to CT exam standards, radiation dose standards, and guidelines established by governing agencies.
  • Ensures optimal patient safety and customer service.
  • Completes a variety of moderate to complex diagnostic CT procedures (for CT Technologist II).
  • Performs CT, CTA, CT Perfusion, CT Cardiac, and CT Interventional procedures (for CT Technologist II).
  • Serves as a mentor and trainer to the CT Technologist I and students (for CT Technologist II).
  • Exercises sound judgment and executes above-average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures (for CT Technologist II).
