About The Position

Under the direction of the Radiologist, Director, Supervisors, and Lead Special Procedure Technologist performs diagnostic medical imaging including Cardiac CT and invasive procedures by CT Scan examinations. This role is more than a career, it's a calling.

Requirements

  • High school, Associates degree preferred
  • None (minimum experience)
  • ARRT
  • BLS
  • State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • ARRT-CT Computed Tomography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 100 plus pounds
  • Ability to move transfer patients.
  • Ability to deal with strenuous and physical activity daily in lifting, pulling, pushing, patients, radiographic equipment cassettes and/or supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Performs computed tomography examinations.
  • Observes established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
  • Uses Hospital/Radiology system according to established policy.
  • Follows hospital and radiology policies: handles bio-hazardous waste appropriately and follows safety and infection control policies.
  • Practices according to safety and infection control policies.
  • Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous, and respectful manner.
  • Incorporates Quality Assessment into one’s daily work.
  • Provides age-appropriate care to: Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric.
  • Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury.
  • Uses communication effectively with others, medical staff, co-workers and patients.
  • Participates in continuing education.
  • Attends meetings as required and participates committees as directed.
  • Explain procedures and provide information to customers.
  • Present self professionally.
  • Maintains environment conductive to good customer relations.
  • Respect customer privacy and confidentiality.
  • Improve the waiting experience.
  • Respond quickly to requests and complaints.
  • Demonstrates practices of teamwork.
