This position is in a fast-paced department that cares for OP, UC, ED and IP populations. The CT Technologist performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images, producing quality computed tomography exam images and exercising professional judgment in the performance of procedures. The role involves providing patient care, initiating life support measures as necessary, and interacting effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and healthcare workers. The technologist must possess the skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment, perform related procedures and protocols, and learn new technology. They will also be involved in orienting new employees and professionally obtaining information from patients or their responsible parties to improve personalized treatment and care. The role requires an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status and the ability to work with all age groups. At Sanford Rural Network Facilities sites, job responsibilities may expand to include on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays. Additional duties may include performing basic diagnostic radiology tasks, mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.
