About The Position

Under the direction of the Radiologist, Director, Supervisors, and Lead Special Procedure Technologist performs diagnostic medical imaging including Cardiac CT and invasive procedures by CT Scan examinations. This role involves performing computed tomography examinations, assessing situations, and choosing appropriate courses of action. The technologist is expected to produce quality images consistently, serve as a resource to co-workers, and assess for vein/site selection, initiating venipuncture per established standards. Documentation of venipuncture site/contrast in RIS and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, including recognizing abnormalities, are crucial. The position also requires adherence to departmental policies, procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards, including running quality control procedures and notifying supervisors of any issues. Preparation of written documentation, accurate use of the KRONOS TIME CLOCK SYSTEM, and proper use of the Hospital/Radiology system are also key responsibilities. This includes inputting and retrieving information from HIS/Radiology information system, maintaining patient information confidentiality, and performing 3D workstation duties. The role demands adherence to safety and infection control policies, including proper handling of bio-hazardous waste and use of protective equipment. Service excellence is paramount, requiring courteous and respectful care, recognizing diverse customer needs, and demonstrating teamwork. Quality Assessment is integrated into daily work, involving responsible resource utilization and recommending efficiency improvements. The technologist must provide age-appropriate care for infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development, assessing age-specific data, and utilizing age-specific communication skills. Specialized care for patients at high risk for injury, including restraint care and pain management, is also part of the role. Effective communication with medical staff, co-workers, and patients is essential, as is participation in continuing education and required meetings. Explaining procedures and providing information to customers in understandable terms, maintaining professionalism in appearance and conduct, and fostering a positive customer relations environment are also expected. Respect for customer privacy and confidentiality is critical, as is improving the waiting experience for customers and responding quickly to requests and complaints. Finally, demonstrating teamwork by avoiding blame, offering and asking for help, providing positive recognition, and discussing roles and accountabilities is vital.

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 100 plus pounds
  • Ability to move transfer patients.
  • Ability to deal with strenuous and physical activity daily in lifting, pulling, pushing, patients, radiographic equipment cassettes and/or supplies.
