About The Position

Provide on-site Computational Modeling Data Analysis, and subject matter expertise in support to Maritime Expeditionary Warfare, Headquarters Marine Corps, Deputy Commandant for Combat Development & Integration, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, located at Quantico, VA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Data Science/Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.
  • Must be comfortable presenting work to audience.
  • Must have ability to present and engage in a technical presentation to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience in RStudio (preferred), or Python.
  • Experience in building dashboards: Power BI, R Shiny, Tableau, etc.
  • Hold a valid US Driver’s License, with ability to operate private, and commercial owned motor vehicles (Rental), as required for commuting and travel.
  • Must be able to obtain a contractor's common access card, which will stand as identification for instructors and will enable them to access government owned computer equipment and Non-secure Internet Protocol.
  • Possess or be eligible to possess an active U.S. Secret level security clearance.
  • As required, obtain a Secure Internet Protocol (SIPR) access token for access to government SIPR computers terminals.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and extract essential information from web instances or Excel files.
  • Show identified data effectively/efficiently through presentations, working papers, and various dashboard technologies to inform leaders.
  • Apply quantitative data science techniques (statistics, mathematics, computer science, and physics) to analyze naval capability portfolio performance, cost and optimization, multi-objective decision-making, sensitivity analysis.
  • Apply Qualitative, quantitative and decision risk analysis techniques for risk identification/evaluation, risk handling, risk monitoring and risk management.
  • Conduct Quantitative Risk Analysis including: Probabilistic Risk Assessment of platform performance, cost, and schedule.
  • Decision Risk Analysis includes applying risk and cost benefit techniques in decision making associated with significant risk or uncertainty.
  • Provide analytic process models, including various probability distributions (normal, binomial, Poisson, exponential, lognormal), probabilistic measures of system performance, data summaries (graphical and numerical), confidence intervals, hypothesis tests, regression analysis (single and multiple predictors), single-factor analysis of variance, and basic time-series analysis.
  • Provide essential actions required to develop relational databases and management systems using Microsoft Excel, Access, or other Department of Defense-approved database tools.
  • Extracting information from multiple and diverse large data sets, as well as storing, retrieving, managing, and controlling data.
