Thornton Tomasetti applies engineering and scientific principles to solve the world’s challenges. An independent organization of creative thinkers and innovative doers collaborating from offices worldwide, our mission is to bring our clients' ideas to life and, in the process, lay the groundwork for a better, more resilient future. We provide support and opportunities to our employees to achieve their full potential and cultivate a rewarding career. The Role We have an opportunity for an engineer to join Thornton Tomasetti's Applied Science team. You will perform essential work for our clients utilizing commercial and bespoke finite element analysis (FEA) software to solve their real-world challenges, with a strong focus on advanced FEA. In addition, you will contribute to the development of custom pre- and post-processing tools that enhance how client's interface with these FEA tools and interpret results. You will work in a collaborative environment that will challenge you intellectually and grow your career path through learning a suite of bespoke and commercial software, while expanding your software development capabilities, and sharpening your command of solid and fluid mechanics, and nonlinear dynamics. You will be a key technical contributor to a combination of our work with defense, infrastructure, and/or energy-related clients. This role is intended to be fluid in the nature of client work; we seek potential applicants that are excited about learning something new and being able to pivot into new areas as opportunities arise.
