About The Position

We’re seeking a Computational Chemist to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods! Our drug discovery group of over 60 scientists includes designers, modelers, computational chemists, medicinal chemists, crystallographers, biochemists, and biologists with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers, as well as a large scale computer infrastructure. Four of the programs we’ve worked on in the past seven years have progressed into the clinic; two are still progressing through trials and two have been approved by the FDA. Who will love this job: A structure-based drug designer who has experience in two of the following molecular modeling areas: virtual ligand screening, computationally-driven lead optimization, machine learning, molecular dynamics, quantum mechanics, cheminformatics, ADMET/QSPR An excellent communicator who’s been exposed to one or more other disciplines of relevance to drug discovery, such as synthetic organic chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, formulation, biochemistry, physical chemistry, or analytical chemistry A team player who enjoys working in interdisciplinary environments and has some background in programming/scripting and/or chemically-aware databases A pharma/biotech veteran

Requirements

  • PhD in computational chemistry, organic chemistry, or physical chemistry, preferably with postdoctoral experience or 1 to 5 years industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Support active drug discovery projects as a computational chemist/modeler
  • Work closely with internal software development teams to improve our drug discovery technologies
