Requirements
- Four years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience including one year of supervisory experience and a bachelor’s degree including or supplemented by fifteen college credits in accounting; or Any equivalent combination of accounting experience and training.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Able to perform essential job functions.
- Drug screening required for conditional offer of employment.
Responsibilities
- Manages all financial and accounting operations for the Lackawanna County Housing Authority and serves as the chief financial officer.
- Direct accounting and financial operations for the Authority
- Develop annual operating and capital budgets
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements
- Ensure alignment with HUD, PHFA, GAAP, and all applicable regulations
- Support annual independent audits and maintain strong internal controls
- Oversee banking activities and guide staff in financial and accounting work
