About The Position

Le Groupe Maurice is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Finance team. Requirements

  • College or university degree in accounting.
  • Over 10 years of experience (DEC) or over 5 years of experience (Bachelor's degree) in general accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to manage complex files, and natural technical leadership.
  • Efficiency in a fast-paced environment, ability to take initiative and improve processes.
  • Ability to simplify accounting issues and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Autonomy, sense of priorities, and motivation to improve team quality and performance.
  • Excellent command of Excel.
  • Bilingualism in French/English (an asset).

  • Knowledge of YARDI.

Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly financial statements accurately and provide analytical insights on variances and trends.
  • Reconcile revenues, prepare adjusting entries, and analyze CAPEX and OPEX expenses, as well as salary and vacation costs.
  • Prepare balance sheet schedules, review bank reconciliations, and ensure intercompany reconciliation consistency.
  • Perform journal entries and prepare GST/QST (TPS/TVQ) tax filings.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, assess provisions, and follow up with operational teams.
  • Actively participate in the onboarding of residence managers and provide technical support on accounting policies and tools.
  • Identify optimization opportunities and propose solutions aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of new work practices and tools.
  • Assist in coaching less experienced colleagues and sharing best practices.
  • Collaborate on the application of SOX controls and maintaining a high level of accounting performance.
