The Senior Accountant will be part of the Corporate Accounting team at TC Transcontinental’s head office and will work alongside a team of motivated collaborators eager to make their mark and innovate. The incumbent will report to the Manager, Financial Operations and will play a key role in supporting business entities, preparing group financial statements, and contributing to various continuous improvement and automation projects. These initiatives will involve close collaboration with multiple teams, including Financial Reporting, Information Technology, and Operational units. The position is based at 1 Place Ville Marie and requires an in-office presence four (4) days per week.

Requirements

  • CPA designation (required) or in the process of obtaining it
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Bilingual in French and English

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare various consolidated and non-consolidated balance sheet analyses
  • Develop and implement control procedures to ensure the accuracy of financial data
  • Review and validate financial statements in collaboration with business units and support operations
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, including intercompany transactions
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives related to general accounting
  • Prepare multiple quantitative reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide financial information and prepare statutory financial statements required for corporate tax filings
  • Support acquisition and divestiture projects
  • Provide required documentation to external and internal auditors
  • Support the Manager, Financial Operations on various ad hoc projects
