About The Position

Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an on-site position in our new Engineering Test Lab as a Compressor Test Technician II. This Technician plays a pivotal role in validating new products including Lab Facility management and repair, test setups, performance testing, compressor re-builds and modification and laboratory continuous improvement. By leveraging their expertise in troubleshooting commercial HVAC equipment and by collaborating across the Engineering department, this Technician helps bring our new products to market!

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in HVAC (or related technical discipline) and at least 5-years of relevant HVAC or compressor work experience is required; OR at least 7-years of relevant HVAC or compressor experience is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
  • EPA Type Universal Certification or willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Support product development activities by operating commercial HVAC equipment, controlling test facilities, and collecting and reviewing experimental test data
  • Independently install, modify, and build developmental commercial HVAC equipment and components, following engineering, agency, and test requirements
  • Work with Test Engineering and other Technicians to install and utilize laboratory test equipment including data acquisition systems, power analyzers, flow equipment, pressure, and temperature measurement devices
  • Independently troubleshoot and repair HVAC compressors and compressor test facilities
