About The Position

Flywheel Energy is looking for a Compression Mechanical Tech 1 to join our field operations team. In this role, you’ll support daily production operations by maintaining essential rotating equipment including water pumps, chemical pumps, electric motors, air compressors, generators, and gas compressors. This role works closely with field operations and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production across assigned assets. This is a hands-on, outdoor field role suited to someone who's detail-oriented, safety-minded, and comfortable learning new equipment and responsibilities on the go.

Requirements

  • Maintain and troubleshoot rotating equipment including water pumps, chemical pumps, electric motors, air compressors, generators, and gas compressors.
  • Perform weekly inspections of pump operations, including monitoring oil levels, temperature, vibration readings, and checking for mechanical seal leaks.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
  • Keep maintenance schedules and tracking systems up to date to support efficient operations.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and supplies required for scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Lead and coordinate contractors during maintenance and repair activities as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to all company, state, and federal safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform weekly performance checks, monitoring oil levels, temperatures, vibration readings, and inspecting leaks on mechanical seals.
  • Keep the equipment / the sites clean, organized, and running at peak performance.
  • Manage maintenance scheduling and tracking.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and supplies.
  • Lead contractors on-site when needed.
  • Perform all work with a top level of accuracy and attention to detail around safety.
  • Comply with all company, state, and federal regulations to stay within legal compliance.
