About The Position

Lesaffre is a global leader in the fermentation of microorganisms, with a history spanning over 170 years. The Red Star Yeast team, part of Lesaffre, provides high-performing yeast and related products to bakers and food manufacturers. Supported by modern manufacturing facilities, the team combines global expertise with local reliability. This role is a full-time, Monday-Friday, 2nd shift position (2p-10p) within the Compressed Yeast Department, requiring the operator to work across all machines to meet evolving customer needs and adapt to changing production demands.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED
• 3 years of experience in similar position if education isn’t met
• Ability to follow instructions, learn and ask questions
• Ability to accurately report process data and maintain process records
• Mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills
• Good people skills
• Ability to manage time and plan ahead
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to Lesaffre's safety-first culture by strictly following all safety protocols and participating in required safety programs.
• Perform sanitation on equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and other assigned areas.
• Monitor quality assurance controls during the production process, including product analysis, weight checks, and code date verifications.
• Record and maintain accurate written and electronic information.
• Understand and follow safety, GMP, food safety, and other rules or policies.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect infrastructure and equipment and notify management when maintenance is required.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process problems.
• Communicate and interact with other employees, customers, and management personnel in a respectful and effective manner.
• Learn and operate all equipment in the Compressed Yeast Department.
• Cover shifts as scheduled.
• Overtime may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
