About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join an established, high-volume ophthalmology practice in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This opportunity is ideal for an established or new graduate interested in stepping into an established practice with strong referral demand within a physician-led organization that values long-term partnership. The practice offers comprehensive ophthalmology, including medical and surgical treatment of a broad spectrum of ocular disease, with a solid volume of cataract surgery. Premium lenses, both toric and multifocal, are well compensated. Medical retina services, including intravitreal injections, are supported by a surgical retina specialist. The practice handles a broad spectrum of ocular pathology, including complex and tertiary-level cases. It is a full-service practice with other comprehensive ophthalmologists and subspecialists in glaucoma, pediatrics, retina, and oculoplastics. The environment is collegial and team-oriented with long-standing physician collaboration. The surgical infrastructure is well-developed, and clinical support teams are experienced. State-of-the-art eye care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team, including optometrists, certified ophthalmic and optometric technicians, contact lens specialists, low vision personnel, and onsite opticians, fostering a collaborative approach to high-quality clinical and surgical care.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible Comprehensive Ophthalmologist
  • Completed an accredited graduate medical training program
  • Must have or be able to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations

Responsibilities

  • Medical and surgical treatment of a broad spectrum of ocular disease
  • Perform cataract surgery, including with premium lenses (toric and multifocal)

  • Collaborate with other comprehensive ophthalmologists and subspecialists
  • Supervise advanced practice clinicians
  • Provide outreach services as part of the role
  • Teach students, residents, fellows, or clinical staff
