About The Position

The Compounding Room Cleaner is responsible for cleaning all equipment, kettles, and associated kettle parts according to Swiss American CDMO Standard Operating Procedures. This role also involves performing other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader. The position requires meticulous cleaning and disinfection of compounding surfaces and equipment, adherence to established protocols for a sterile and safe working environment, precise measurement of cleaning solutions, understanding of safety data sheets (SDS), and strict following of all safety procedures related to hazardous materials and equipment operation. A keen awareness of potential safety hazards and clear communication of cleaning needs and issues to team members are essential. The role involves working collaboratively to maintain a clean and organized work environment and understanding both verbal and written instructions for cleaning tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Meticulously clean and disinfect compounding surfaces and equipment
Follow established protocols to ensure a sterile and safe working environment
Measure cleaning solutions precisely according to instructions
Read and understand safety data sheets (SDS) for cleaning products
Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous materials and equipment operation
Maintain a keen awareness of potential safety hazards in the compounding room
Clearly communicate cleaning needs and potential issues to team members
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions for cleaning tasks
Work collaboratively to maintain a clean and organized work environment

Responsibilities

Follow and perform lock out tag out procedures for isolating air, electrical or hydraulic energy prior to starting job task.
Report any safety issues or concerns immediately to Sanitation or Safety leadership.
Properly clean and sanitize all kettles following the Standard Operating Procedures set by Swiss American CDMO, including the valve, blades, sideswipe blades, and mixers attached to the kettle, if applicable.
Re-assemble and re-connect the valve, blades, and side sweep blades.
Properly clean and sanitize all transfer pumps following the Standard Operating Procedure set by Swiss American CDMO and reassemble the transfer pump.
Properly clean and sanitize all mixers following the Standard Operating Procedure set by Swiss American CDMO and reassemble the mixer.
Provide DI Water at 80C in a mobile kettle to the Production Department when needed to perform cleaning activities.
Re-sanitize equipment including kettles, transfer pumps, piping, and ancillary mixers once the “Use by Date and time” has expired.
Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing and maintain the cleanliness of the Compound Room, to include floors, walls, catwalk, steam, and chiller piping, electrical panels/drop cords, and the outside surfaces including framework of all equipment and kettles.
Document all required information in the Cleaning Logbook and attach a cleaning tag to the equipment, kettle, transfer pump, or ancillary mixer.
Communicate any and all issues that may be present during or after performing job tasks to Sanitation leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned.
