Our goal is to improve clinical outcomes and provide personalized care every step of the way. CareRx is looking for a Pharmacist to join our Edmonton Compounding Retail team. Under the general direction of the Designated Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and safely while providing pharmaceutical patient care ensuring the highest level of therapeutic appropriateness for patients. The Staff Pharmacist responds to a multitude of scenarios including, but not limited to: Verifying safe and appropriate medication administration, assessing and dispensing critical medications, rapidly responding to palliative care prescriptions and arranging drug deliveries with our delivery team.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
  • Proven ability to foster strong partnership with other members of the health care team.
  • Effective organization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Skilled in critical thought processes and ability to prioritize appropriately.
  • Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision and the ability to work independently.
  • Motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality.
  • Must demonstrate good listening skill and be adaptable to changes in job environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Kroll Windows application preferred.
  • Previous Compounding experience is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with all members of the pharmacy team to ensure medication orders are dispensed accurately, safely, timely and completely.
  • Complete daily tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures, and corporate regulations, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Consult with members of the pharmacy management team when there are unresolved issues surrounding day to day work functions.
  • Provide exceptional customer care to CareRx pharmacy patients and hospice home partners.
  • Communications with all members of the resident care team and retail patients while maintaining professionalism by following corporate policies to always ensure the highest standard of customer care and quality of pharmacy service.
  • Administer injections for patients as per the College guidelines.
  • Support compounding workflow oversight, compliance packaging operations, monitoring of pharmacy inventory, and medication management processes.
  • Conduct medication profile reviews with associated documentation of recommendations.
  • Work closely with pharmacy team members, pharmacists, regulated pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants, nurses, care homes, and delivery teams to ensure continuity of care and exceptional customer service.
  • Follow all provincial and federal laws, standards and regulations which govern the practice of pharmacy at all times.
