About The Position

Operates compound machinery and components in both upper and lower mill as needed to mix and process raw materials into rubber and plastic compounds used to coat cables throughout production processes. Requirements

  • Experienced with measuring devices applicable to the industry.
  • ISO requirements pertaining to the line.
  • Mechanically inclined
  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude.
  • Read measurement tools, gauges and other related precision tools.
  • Perform shop arithmetic.
  • Read and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Communicate effectively to receive and pass on information and instructions.
  • Troubleshoot basic line problems.
  • Continuously pay attention to detail.
  • Fulfill simple computer tasks.
  • Work within a team structure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the wire & cable industry a plus but not required.
  • Ability to train other employees when required

Responsibilities

  • Abides by all safety guidelines to ensure the safety of oneself and others in the vicinity while on premises.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Works in a professional manner, punctual and highly dependable.
  • Mechanically sets up equipment per operating requirements.
  • Consistently monitors the supply of raw material to ensure continuous operation and communicates discrepancies.
  • Performs required measurements with company-approved measuring devices to ensure the final process meets the required specifications.
  • Verifies the measuring devices are calibrated.
  • Visually inspects material throughout all processes and takes appropriate measures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping of all pertinent information required by Kerite, including work center records.
  • Takes corrective action to ensure quality product.
  • Participates in scheduled team meetings and contributes to continuous improvement.
  • Participates in maintaining ISO certification.
  • Adheres to applicable System Level Procedures (SLPs) and Process Controls
  • Review documentation/work orders
  • Operate fork trucks and change cylinders
  • Communicate with Production Specialist/Production Supervisor
