About The Position

Anduril's Hardware Platform division is responsible for developing niche core technology, and quick turn prototypes to inform development paths at the concept stage. We work with all the Anduril product lines by providing design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing solutions on an ad-hoc basis with a focus on taking ideas from the computer screen to making real world hardware. In the Development Composites team, you'll be in a dynamic position working alongside engineers and other technicians to solve issues in real time to get composites parts and assemblies out into the field.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience working with composite materials including lamination, trimming, bonding, and handling
  • Experience working with fiberglass, carbon fiber, and other composite materials, in prepreg and wet layup forms
  • Ability to work in a R&D atmosphere with direct instruction from leads and engineering.
  • Ability to read drawings and build at a fast and aggressive pace.
  • Have a background in oven, ply cutter, and heated platen press operation,
  • Understanding of importance of composite material storage processes
  • Understanding of common industry best practices including: tool preparation and care, contamination prevention, surface preparation for bonding, proper trim and drill, safety.
  • Experience in vacuum bagging process and how to troubleshoot when issues arise.
  • Application of thermocouples to support cure processes
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time, ability to lift 50 lbs
  • A high degree of ownership whilst maintaining high quality of work
  • Be eligible to obtain and hold a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with trapped tooling methods
  • Ability to read and understand GD&T ASME Y14.5
  • Ability to program oven/autoclave temperature and pressure profiles
  • Ability to drive forklift
  • Experience with laser ply projection equipment, setup, and software.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings and instructions
  • Prepare layup tools including sealing, releasing, and repairing when applicable
  • Trim and finish composites parts and assemblies
  • Visual inspect components to ensure they meet specifications
  • Maintain equipment and tools
  • Document your work according to company guidelines
  • Follow all safety protocols
