About The Position

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Composite Technician I to join our team in Mobile, AL. This role involves the ability to objectively self-inspect work, finished parts and components as required, and maintain written records and work logs in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and Transport Canada (TCAA) requirements. The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities helps assemble aircraft for the A220 and A320 Family, working with individuals passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure, and quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Some form of Technical/Professional/Vocational Training in the Composites field (apprenticeship, institutional training, etc.)
  • Three (3)+ years of hands-on experience with Aerospace or Equivalent Composites(Shipyard, Supplier, Etc.)
  • Proficient in English Language (Ability to read, write and effectively communicate)

Nice To Haves

  • One (1)+ years of experience in Aerospace (preferred but not required)
  • A second language is preferred but not required (French, Spanish, German)

Responsibilities

  • Ability to learn to read and interpret all common and accepted Blueprint/drawings types.
  • Performs composite repairs (as directed) related to molds, wet and prepreg layup, re-work/repair of existing structures.
  • Self-Inspects Parts and Components where applicable.
  • Ability to use all related measuring devices/tools to ensure adherence to requested part/component documentation.
  • Adherence to various policies regarding accurate recording of completed work and work-in-progress.
  • Housekeeping, Assistance with lifting/pushing/pulling, etc.
  • Maintain acceptable/normal levels of On-hand stock quantities.
