Operator I - Composites 2nd Shift
About The Position
The Gund Company has an immediate opening for a full-time Composite Operator I to join our team! We’re a growing company with strong opportunities for advancement, offering challenging work and support for ongoing career development. We’re looking for a mechanically inclined, motivated team member who’s ready to contribute to our operation and grow with us. This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with mixing, batching or compounding equipment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets.
- Select and install machine components, such as dies, spacers, shims and/or stops according to specifications.
- Trim/file and de-flash molded sheet edges and perform in process measuring and material inspections.
- Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Clean dies and molds, using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads or air hoses.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
