Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with different types of electrical components, their differences, and how to test them.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, strong motivation, and a commitment to personal accountability.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritize tasks, and continuously improve processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, consistently following through on responsibilities.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands.
  • Effectively partners with engineers, suppliers, and business teams to develop and implement solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product development and sourcing teams to mitigate risks related to component lifecycle, sole sourcing, and lead times.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to align Bill of Materials (BOMs) with product development, sourcing, and production timelines.
  • Proactively identify and resolve component obsolescence issues, recommending suitable alternatives to ensure product continuity.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in alignment with divisional goals to drive financial performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with component manufacturers to resolve component issues and ensure compliance with required standards.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of materials functions to identify and communicate the value propositions of various component options.
  • Maintain and update the Approved Vendor List (AVL) for internal and external partners.
  • Recommend alternative components based on cost, quality, delivery, and lifecycle, ensuring engineering approval.
