About The Position

The Component Specialist will work as the primary liaison between engineering and supply chain to ensure proactivity, coordination, and prompt action between the two groups. The Component Specialist will build a deep understanding of the Ultra Maritime product line, and help incorporate supply chain considerations into the bid, design, and execution of projects.

Requirements

Engineering or Engineering Technology degree/diploma.
3+ years of engineering or supply chain experience.
Ability to work on Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR controlled articles
Candidate must be capable of acquiring a NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with electronic components such as ICs, resistors, and capacitors.
Experience with engineering deliverables, such as drawings, PCB layouts, and BOMs.
Familiarity working with or in supply chain.
Experience using Jira.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel within Canada, US and Overseas

Responsibilities

Assisting supply chain with engineering questions and coordinating with engineering to execute supply chain requests.
Evaluate and facilitate approve alternate components to resolve shortages.
Aligning supply chain and engineering during planning, designing, and reviews.
Working with suppliers, quality, configuration management, engineering, and supply chain to execute change requests and deviations.
Monitoring part obsolescence and assisting engineering teams in determining the impact and planning remediation actions.
