About The Position

The Component Integration Engineering Specialist will be responsible for selecting mechanical and electronic components for the control of naval platforms. This role involves coordinating with suppliers to develop equipment suitable for naval environments, and collaborating with software and hardware teams to define equipment requirements. The specialist will also stay updated on technological advancements in the marine control industry, prepare test procedures and reports for equipment environmental qualification testing, review customer specifications to develop traceable system requirements, and review environmental requirements on naval programs. Additionally, the role includes supporting obsolescence management for in-service programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in naval or aerospace engineering
  • Experience with military or industrial environmental qualification standards or specifications (e.g. MIL-STD-901, MIL-STD-187A)
  • Experience with computer integration and testing
  • Familiarity with computer design
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and team work skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • The knowledge of the English language, other than the French language is necessary due to contractual requirements.
  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ship classification society standards (e.g. Lloyds Register, DNV) is an asset
