About The Position

Productive Resources is seeking a Component Engineer to join their engineering team at a customer's facility in Fargo, ND. The selected candidate will be responsible for selecting components based on specifications and reliability analysis, communicating findings, and taking action as needed. This role operates within a team environment, requiring input on design solutions and participation in design reviews. This is a full-time, indefinite position with opportunities for professional growth within the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
  • Must be a team player, working collaboratively with another team member on the other part of the process.
  • Comfortable working with established processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Proficiency with Excel.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Provide proof of identity and legal authority to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electronic circuit design.
  • Able to make preliminary selections or adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Ability to interface with purchasing, receiving inspection, distribution, and manufacturers representatives.
  • Ability to technically comprehend electronic component types, their general circuit function, and locate necessary parameters from datasheets.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain databases, files, and/or spreadsheets to ensure accurate and current information is available for use by others.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of data submissions and forms; enter data into appropriate system or processes according to standard procedures.
  • Respond to standard inquiries; analyze information of intermediate difficulty using individual judgment in the performance of tasks; research or resolve discrepancies following prescribed procedures; referring complex requests to appropriate staff members.
  • Update and maintain process documentation.
  • Produce a variety of correspondence and reports in support of department processes.
  • Retrieve records or data and distribute information as appropriate in order to provide timely and accurate information to department members or external customers.
  • Perform analysis of data and resolve discrepancies following prescribed procedures.
  • Analyze, read and understand technical requirements written by others to determine the best technical solution for routine problems or projects.
  • Select components based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • Communicate findings and/or take action based on these analyses.
  • Operate in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
