About The Position

Aalis Management Consulting is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support a federal agency's policy, privacy, records, and compliance requirements for complex IT and analytical initiatives. The Compliance Specialist will support the identification and application of applicable federal policies, regulations, and guidance; develop compliance documentation and processes; track compliance actions; and assist with risk identification and mitigation. The position will work under government direction and coordinate with privacy, civil rights/civil liberties, records, and program officials as required. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting compliance, policy, governance, or risk management activities within a federal environment, along with strong analytical and technical writing skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Policy, Law, Government, Political Science, Compliance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting compliance, policy, governance, risk management, or related activities for federal programs.
  • Experience researching and interpreting policies, regulations, statutes, or federal guidance.
  • Experience developing compliance documentation, checklists, procedures, workflows, or reports.
  • Experience tracking compliance requirements, actions, risks, and supporting documentation.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex policy and compliance requirements clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain DHS Suitability clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DHS, CBP, federal law enforcement, intelligence, or similar federal programs.
  • Familiarity with federal privacy requirements and policies.
  • Familiarity with civil rights and civil liberties requirements.
  • Experience supporting federal records management requirements.
  • Experience working with government privacy, legal, civil rights/civil liberties, or records officials.
  • Experience supporting governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the identification and review of applicable federal policies, regulations, statutes, and guidance.
  • Analyze compliance requirements and help translate them into practical procedures and workflows.
  • Support compliance activities associated with federal IT, analytical, and mission-support programs.
  • Develop and maintain compliance checklists, workflows, procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with government privacy, civil rights/civil liberties, records management, legal, and program officials as directed.
  • Track compliance-related actions, requirements, decisions, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain organized compliance records and documentation to support program oversight and audit readiness.
  • Assist with identifying compliance risks, gaps, and potential areas of non-compliance.
  • Support the development and tracking of risk mitigation and corrective action plans.
  • Research policies and regulatory requirements and summarize findings for program stakeholders.
  • Prepare written analyses, briefings, reports, and other compliance-related deliverables.
  • Support program teams in incorporating compliance requirements into processes, workflows, and pilot activities.
  • Monitor changes to applicable policies and guidance and communicate relevant updates to program stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with government personnel and multidisciplinary contractor teams to support compliance objectives.
