About The Position

The Compliance Specialist provides key support to agency management. Under the supervision of the Director of Contracts and Compliance, the Compliance Specialist will lead the agency's in contract compliance efforts.

Requirements

  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Must possess analytical skills and the ability to make sound business decisions within policies.
  • Possess management-level organizational skills to effectively monitor various contract outcomes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple funding sources, including local, state and federal government grants, permanent supportive housing and Medi-Cal funding requirements.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and detail-oriented.
  • 2+ years of contract analysis or high-level administrative experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in Business or a related field. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) including spreadsheets and routine word processing.
  • Ability to use widely supported internet browsers.
  • Access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts to stay informed of and enforce all agency and funder rules and guidelines. Acquire broad knowledge of assigned program contracts and grants and their requirements through research and continuous engagement with programs.
  • Conduct quarterly interview review process to ensure that SJC client files are accurate and meet funder requirements.
  • Review program client records to ensure eligibility requirements are met and document deficiencies found during internal reviews.
  • Ensure all SJC client files are audit-ready for all external reviews. Support programs prior to funder audits ensuring file rooms are secure and compliant.
  • Coaching and clarifying contract processes, conditions and details with management, program managers, and directors.
  • Provide training for case management staff regarding compliance requirements and procedures as needed.
  • Create and maintain training materials, support documents, and job guides as needed.
  • Provide additional support to programs to ensure appropriate corrections are made and provide related training when needed.
