The City of San José is seeking a full-time Compliance Specialist (Power Resources Specialist I/II) to join the Regulatory Compliance & Policy Division within the Energy Department. This role supports San José Clean Energy (SJCE), the city's not-for-profit electricity supplier. SJCE provides clean energy to over 350,000 customer accounts, contributing to San José's goal of being carbon neutral by 2030. The Compliance Specialist will oversee energy-related procurement, programs, load forecasting, and compliance reporting, ensuring adherence to regulations such as Integrated Resource Planning, Mid-Term Reliability, Renewable Portfolio Standards, and Resource Adequacy. This position involves managing compliance requirements, serving as a point of contact for regulators, anticipating future needs, designing operating protocols, conducting policy research, and ensuring timely submission of all compliance filings and data requests. The role also includes collaborating internally and with other Community Choice Aggregations (CCAs) on procurement compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting California state energy-related compliance reports for a load-serving entity, possess strong organizational and planning skills, and be adept at communicating technical information to diverse audiences.
