About The Position

The Compliance Risk Analyst II supports the execution and continuous improvement of the Credit Union’s Compliance Management System (CMS) by independently managing compliance reviews, regulatory change implementation, and risk assessment activities. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who operates as a trusted advisor to business lines. As an Experienced Professional (Level II), you will apply practical and regulatory knowledge to ensure compliance requirements are effectively integrated into operations and strategic initiatives, while delivering high-quality results with limited day-to-day supervision.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in operational, regulatory compliance and risk experience, preferably in a financial institution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to Learn and demonstrate that learning on the job
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must maintain high-level of confidentiality
  • Can be accountable for the completion of assigned deliverables with little day-to-day management
  • Uses judgement, but supervision required for overall tasks
  • Experienced understanding of the business line and a basic understanding of specialized discipline.
  • Able to handle problems that are difficult, but typically not complex
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulations (Reg Z, RESPA/TRID, Reg DD, ECOA, UDAAP, GLBA)
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, fair lending reviews, and regulatory change management
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain programs, features, policies and procedures to employees, members and business partners
  • Strong relationship building and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to influence timelines, expectations, and proactively negotiate within department

Nice To Haves

  • Industry acceptable compliance designations preferred but not required (i.e. Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE), NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO)).
  • Lending experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage regulatory complaint investigations, ensuring compliant responses and identifying systemic risk trends
  • Conduct and approve compliance reviews of marketing materials, and providing clear regulatory guidance in a timely manner
  • Perform fair lending reviews to identify potential risks and partner with business lines to remediate and strengthen controls
  • Support compliance support for new products and strategic initiatives, including regulatory impact assessments and control implementation
  • Review and assist with enhancement of policies, procedures, and processes to address control gaps and support effective governance
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assist with management efforts, including stakeholder updates and implementation tracking as needed
  • Maintain the regulatory training calendar and support organization-wide compliance awareness
  • Serve as a trusted compliance advisor to business units, providing guidance on complex regulatory and risk scenarios
  • Review and request insurance-related documents to support credit union compliance
  • Support business line risk assessments, ensuring risks and control gaps are identified, remediated, and validated for effectiveness
  • Serve as a mentor to more junior team members
  • Other duties as assigned.
