About The Position

Fin is seeking its first dedicated compliance operations hire to manage the day-to-day operations of its compliance program. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance capacity keeps pace with the company's rapid growth in payment volume. The position involves hands-on review of businesses, alerts, and transforming manual processes into automated workflows. The compliance framework, including a Compliance Charter and core programs for financial crime, due diligence, fraud, and more, is already established.

Requirements

  • 1-4+ years in compliance operations at a fintech, payments company, crypto business, or bank.
  • Direct ownership of AML, KYB/CDD, and/or EDD reviews.
  • Strong business due diligence skills, including untangling multi-layer ownership and reading formation documents.
  • Experience investigating unusual activity and writing referrals or case narratives.
  • Working knowledge of the BSA/AML framework, FinCEN guidance, and FATF standards as they apply to payments and digital assets.
  • Clear and precise writing skills suitable for partner, auditor, and examiner review.

Nice To Haves

  • CAMS, CAMS-FCI, CCI, CRCM, or similar certification.
  • Experience with trade-based money laundering typologies or with wholesale, trading, or import/export customers.
  • Hands-on experience dispositioning sanctions, PEP, and adverse media alerts, with a working knowledge of OFAC requirements.
  • Experience with Persona, Middesk, or similar KYB and case management platforms.
  • Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM) and stablecoin on-chain flows.

Responsibilities

  • Review and disposition sanctions, PEP, and adverse media matches for entities and associated persons.
  • Triage blockchain analytics alerts on inbound and outbound transfers, and manage hold-and-review workflows for flagged funds.
  • Answer partner due diligence and information requests accurately and on time, and deliver against the partner reporting calendar.
  • Write and maintain procedures and runbooks for compliance programs.
  • Track and report operating metrics such as queue age, review turnaround, alert volumes, RFI aging, and override rates.
  • Identify recurring manual work and propose tooling or workflow solutions.
  • Own the KYB/CDD review queue, verifying legal entity details, beneficial owners, and control persons using company tooling.
  • Manage the customer risk rating process and conduct enhanced due diligence for higher-risk profiles.
  • Issue and track RFIs, evaluate responses, and write clear disposition memos, including decline and exit recommendations.
