About The Position

Gwynedd Manufacturing is a rapidly growing defense contractor and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in North Wales, PA, serving the U.S. Department of Defense and federal law enforcement agencies with high-quality firearms and accessories. The company is committed to continuous technological advancement and process improvement. This Compliance Manager role supports the company’s regulatory compliance program, ensuring manufacturing, distribution, and business operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Gun Control Act, National Firearms Act (NFA), and ATF requirements. The position assists the Compliance Manager in overseeing Federal Firearms License (FFL) activities, maintaining accurate records, and serving as a secondary point of contact for government agencies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-driven, and self-motivated.

Requirements

  • Must possess strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word) and inventory/ERP systems
  • 2–4 years of experience in compliance, preferably in the firearms manufacturing or distribution industry.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Working knowledge of the Gun Control Act, NFA regulations, and ATF compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in compliance recordkeeping systems and inventory management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive in identifying and solving problems
  • Ability to legally possess firearms under applicable laws.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must know basic firearm safety.
  • Must be able to pass criminal background test and drug test.
  • Must be punctual, meticulous, and reliable.
  • Positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, policies, and procedures to meet ATF and NFA regulations.
  • Support audits of Acquisition & Disposition (A&D) bound books, firearms serialization processes, and inventory control systems.
  • Prepare, track, and submit ATF and NFA forms (Forms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) in coordination with the Compliance Manager.
  • Provide support during ATF inspections, audits, and investigations.
  • Help maintain and renew company FFLs and Special Occupational Taxpayer (SOT) registrations on time.
  • Assist in identifying compliance risks and implementing corrective action plans for violations or findings.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, R&D, shipping, and sales teams to ensure operational compliance.
  • Monitor changes in firearms laws and report relevant updates to the Compliance Manager.
  • Participate in internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance training programs.
  • Support and supervise compliance team members, including associates and coordinators.
  • Maintain secure and organized compliance documentation, including NFA records and serialized inventory files.
