About The Position

The Global Compliance Investigator (“CI”) shall lead, coordinate and execute compliance investigations across multiple countries and jurisdictions collaborating with regional and local resources, and contribute to global investigation standards, tools, and training. The CI reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”) and shall be located in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Requirements

  • Degree in law, accounting, or related field
  • Minimum seven (7) years equivalent experience in leading or conducting investigations
  • Demonstrated expertise handling complex, sensitive, multi‑jurisdictional cases
  • Strong technical proficiency in forensic data analysis
  • Fluent in English (both oral and written)
  • Profound drafting and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Outlook, Power Point, Power BI, etc.)
  • Proficiency with data management systems and, preferably, AI tools
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize workload; handle multiple tasks at the same time; and to drive investigative work without formal authority
  • Self-motivated, dedicated team player with the ability to work successfully in different cultures and jurisdictions and across different time zones
  • Willingness to travel globally
  • Integrity and confidentiality; good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Enthusiastic with strong interpersonal and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an investigator role in an audit form and large corporation preferred
  • Automotive industry experience as a plus
  • Spanish, Portuguese or another language as a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage, independently conduct and support investigations of actual or potential violations of JSS’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, company policies and procedures, and laws and regulations (“compliance investigations”) across the company in collaboration with the Regional Compliance Officers (“RCOs”), the regional and local compliance teams and others
  • Develop investigation plans, conduct interviews, coordinate collection and review of data and produce investigation reports
  • Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with relevant business process owners to define and implement recurrence prevention measures
  • Monitor effective implementation of corrective actions to ensure sustained resolution and process improvement
  • Ensure that all compliance reports are properly logged into the company’s global case management system
  • Implement and enhance strategies and controls to assure investigation quality, efficiency and speed across the company
  • Continuously evaluate and refine investigation processes to improve lead time and ensure outcomes effectively addressing underlying risks and issues, including the continued improvement of the company’s Compliance Investigations Manual, policies and templates
  • Identify and escalate any detected control deficiencies
  • Provide investigation training, share best practices and lesson’s learned
  • Provide support and guidance to investigation staff as applicable
  • Collect, compile, analyze, interpret, and present information and statistical data related to compliance investigations
  • Administer the Company’s global whistleblower hotline and the global case management system
  • Prepare investigation reports and briefings for the CCO, RCOs and senior leadership of the company
  • Support the periodic compliance risk assessments and the implementation of controls to mitigate identified risks
  • Support the implementation of the annual compliance program self-assessment
  • Participate in any training that is designated as mandatory for the employee in the form and at the time determined by the company and any post-training assessment relating to such training
  • Participate in the annual or other regular staff dialogue(s) conducted by the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CCO
