About The Position

The Compliance & Data Science Consultant supports the Lab’s compliance advisory and data analytics service lines by combining substantive regulatory knowledge with quantitative and computational skill. The incumbent in the role will contribute to client-facing compliance assessments, portfolio monitoring engagements, and data-driven risk analytics projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Three to five years of professional experience in compliance, regulatory consulting, or a related advisory role within healthcare, banking/investment management, or biotech/pharmaceutical industries.
  • Demonstrated applied experience in data science, data analytics, or quantitative risk analysis (academic or professional).
  • Foundational knowledge of compliance program structure, including the DOJ Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs framework or equivalent regulatory guidance.
  • Substantive familiarity with at least two of the following: sanctions screening, anti-bribery/FCPA compliance, data governance, or regulatory risk modeling.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools such as Python, R, SQL, or comparable platforms; comfort working with structured and unstructured datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of client compliance programs.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, gap analyses, and portfolio monitoring reviews under senior Lab supervision.
  • Assist with substantive regulatory analysis in areas including sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, and sector-specific frameworks.
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables including assessment reports, program design recommendations (including policy revisions), and remediation roadmaps.
  • Continue to develop AI-driven workflows to derive efficiency on PE monitoring and compliance advisory work.
  • Develop and execute data analytics workflows for compliance monitoring, risk stratification, and regulatory reporting engagements.
  • Apply statistical methods, data visualization, and computational techniques to identify patterns, anomalies, and risk indicators in client datasets.
  • Contribute to the Lab’s data governance advisory offerings, including data mapping, classification frameworks, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Support the integration of AI and machine learning tools into compliance workflows, including prompt engineering, output validation, and tool evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the existing data science consultant on projects requiring both regulatory context and quantitative execution, serving as the compliance-substance bridge.
  • Assist with business development by creating and maintaining proposal content, scoping documents, and assisting with through leadership at the compliance/analytics intersection.
  • Maintain active engagement with professional communities (e.g., SCCE, SCCE Data Analytics Working Group) to inform service line development.
