About The Position

The Compliance and BSA Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Compliance and BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) departments. This position assists with a variety of BSA/AML/OFAC and regulatory compliance functions, including monitoring activities, investigations, documentation, reporting, audits, examinations, training administration, and recordkeeping. This role supports the Bank's efforts to maintain effective and efficient processes for identifying, monitoring, assessing, and reporting compliance and BSA-related risks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work collaboratively with employees across the organization while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year experience in banking industry or related field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Compliance Officer and BSA Officer with the administration of the Bank's Compliance and BSA/AML/OFAC programs.
  • Maintain a fundamental knowledge of regulatory requirements to perform assigned tasks at an appropriate level.
  • Maintain a fundamental knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and all related anti-money laundering (AML) and OFAC regulations.
  • Assist the Compliance Officer and BSA Officer with performing various quality control reviews and monitoring pertaining to the Compliance Management System, Bank Secrecy Act, US Patriot Act, anti-money laundering, OFAC and Customer Identification Program compliance using industry standard and regulatory guidance.
  • Research, gather, review, and organize information needed for BSA and compliance investigations, audits, examinations, and reviews.
  • Maintain accurate BSA and compliance records, reports, case files, tracking logs, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with customer due diligence reviews, regulatory reporting, training administration, and other BSA and compliance-related activities.
  • Support the preparation and organization of information requested by regulators, auditors, and examiners.
  • Communicate with employees across the organization to obtain information, answer routine questions, and provide support related to BSA and compliance processes.
  • Assist with identifying, tracking, and resolving exceptions, documentation deficiencies, and follow-up items.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive customer and Bank information.
  • Complete all required training and comply with established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Attend as a member of the Bank’s deposit and loan compliance and BSA committees.
  • Perform other duties, special projects, and assignments as requested by management.
