About The Position

The Compliance Assistant Manager, Corporate Compliance Testing Team, supports the Compliance Manager and Compliance Director of Corporate Compliance in managing enterprise-wide second line of defense regulatory and control testing activities. This role is responsible for assessing, identifying, and executing regulatory and control testing while also planning and reporting on compliance testing activities. The role collaborates closely with stakeholders across the first and second lines of defense to identify opportunities for improvement in the design and effectiveness of first line business units’ regulatory compliance processes and controls. The position also plays a key role in maintaining documentation, reporting to risk management committees, and supporting continuous improvement of compliance testing practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Controls or similar field.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of MS Office with specific focus in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Highly organized.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in Regulatory and Compliance as it relates to Banking is preferred.
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of the Compliance Testing Program standards.
  • Assist with completion of quarterly reports to risk committee(s).
  • Assist with designing department process improvements and implementing changes, and in updating policies and procedures for the Compliance Testing Program.
  • With limited supervision, plan and execute Compliance Testing engagements as needed to assess the first line business units’ compliance with applicable regulations and laws.
  • Assist with reviewing and assessing laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance applicable to testing.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices, and share insights with Compliance leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the Compliance Testing program.
  • Identify emerging compliance risks and control gaps resulting from regulatory or operational changes.
  • Partner with compliance subject matter experts to develop an integrated and independent view of business area risks and risk management practices.
  • Maintain required documentation and records that demonstrate an effective and accurate completion of testing occurred.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reports summarizing results of testing.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit and examination summaries for presentation to management and Bank risk management committees.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across business lines and control functions to gain insight into compliance risks related to business activities, objectives, processes, and the control environment.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Compliance Management System and related frameworks.
  • Provide support for special projects related to Compliance Testing Program enhancements.
