About The Position

Highlights Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Compliance & Regulatory Paralegal to join its corporate support team. This team provides support to ABA therapy Learning Centers and hospice locations across the southeast. The role will primarily focus on regulatory compliance for both ABA and hospice service lines, with a particular emphasis on Medicare and Medicaid requirements. Highlights Healthcare specializes in providing diagnosis and early intervention ABA therapy services to children with autism, especially young learners and families with Medicaid benefits, guided by family-centered principles of dignity and respect.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in paralegal support
• Adherence to laws and best practices with regard to customers and data
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, team environment
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office
• Highly organized with attention to detail; results driven
• Excellent time management and high productivity
• Strong, polished communication and customer service skills – written and verbal

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited college or university, preferred
• Juris Doctor (JD), Paralegal Certificate, or LL.M. (Highly Recommended)
• Experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations, preferred but not required
• Experience with CAQH, provider enrollment systems, and licensing process, preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations
• Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Support provider credentialing and recredentialing, including initial applications, verifications, and ongoing monitoring
• Assist with Medicare and Medicaid enrollments and compliance
• Coordinate and maintain state and local business licenses
• Monitor and support compliance related to waivers and regulatory programs
• Conduct legal and regulatory research related to healthcare compliance
• Identify and mitigate legal and financial risks
• Development and implementation of company policies and procedures
• Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of files and records
• Comply with Highlights Healthcare’s vision, mission, and values
