About The Position

We are looking for an Compliance Analyst to support day-to-day compliance operations and work directly under the Legal function. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in regulatory compliance, risk management, controls, and investigative processes who is ready to take on increasing ownership and operate with a high degree of judgment and professionalism. This is a hands-on role with room to grow and take ownership of increasingly complex compliance matters.

Requirements

  • 1–4 years of experience in compliance, risk, privacy, or a closely related function, ideally at a regulated company or a firm serving regulated clients.
  • Working familiarity with at least one of: U.S. financial privacy law, data privacy frameworks, third-party risk management, or regulatory compliance in financial services or tax.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, organizational habits. You keep trackers accurate, meet deadlines without being chased, and leave a record others can pick up.
  • Comfortable working independently and handling sensitive information.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a fintech, bank, or tax software company, or in a role supporting those clients.
  • Exposure to IRC, IRS e-file provider rules, or tax-industry data protection requirements.
  • Experience responding to bank or financial-institution due diligence questionnaires, or working inside a compliance management tool.
  • Privacy or compliance certification, or active progress toward one.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance reviews, monitoring, and testing across april's regulatory obligations.
  • Review and investigate potential compliance issues, document findings, and escalate where appropriate.
  • Identify control gaps and assist with remediation and follow-up.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Monitor regulatory developments relevant to tax software, data privacy, and financial services; summarize what matters for april; and propose and help implement updates to internal policies and procedures.
  • Run point on customer due diligence requests: third-party risk management questionnaires, compliance and privacy due diligence questionnaires, audit requests, and ongoing monitoring asks from customers.
  • Work with the Security team to deliver consistent, accurate answers across security, privacy, and regulatory questionnaires, and maintain the Legal/compliance answer bank.
  • Own the vendor compliance intake process: risk-tier new vendors, collect and review their security and privacy documentation, and route anything that needs Legal or Security review.
  • Keep april's compliance policies current, track review dates, manage version control, and drive the annual review and approval cycle.
  • Coordinate compliance training: schedule it, track completion, and help write content that people will read.
  • Support the AI governance program, including the inventory of AI use cases, vendor and model documentation, and review workflows.
