About The Position

In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that OR Bitco remains in compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements. You’ll monitor regulatory developments, conduct research, support compliance initiatives, and serve as a key liaison with state Departments of Insurance. Working closely with leaders across the organization, you’ll help strengthen processes, identify compliance risks, and support a culture of regulatory excellence.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • College or paralegal degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to review and analyze legislative materials
  • Proficient PC skills, including experience with Windows based word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytic/problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with consideration for meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels and in various departments
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and foster good working relations with all internal and external customers
  • Establish good working relationships with insurance department personnel and act as a liaison for communications between BITCO and the various Departments of Insurance (DOI)
  • Review DOI and industry correspondence and insurance related materials for legislative changes
  • Monitor, review and research state insurance laws, regulations and bulletins to ensure BITCO's legal compliance
  • Assist in the analysis of the company's regulatory compliance and development of control procedures
  • Monitor and assist with the development of improvements to workflows in the areas of compliance, forms, legislative or legal tracking and legal research
  • Research questions regarding regulations, products and processes
  • Perform regular review of state market conduct examinations; track trends, conduct internal reviews of company processes and recommend changes to maintain compliance
  • Monitor OFAC reporting and investigate potential matches
  • Work with manager and company leadership to review and update company Disaster Response and Business Continuity Plans
  • Work with leadership and parent company to complete annual Conflict of Interest certifications
  • Receive and route DOI complaints to appropriate individuals for review and resolution. Maintain log for company complaints; make regular reports to company group
  • Coordinate with appropriate departments to complete required compliance certifications including cyber-security
  • Perform other duties as assigned
