About The Position

Robinhood is seeking a Compliance Advisory Lead to ensure regulatory compliance for its banking products. This role involves analyzing regulatory changes, reviewing marketing materials, providing compliance guidance to product teams, and collaborating with bank partners on regulatory matters. The position is based in Menlo Park, CA; New York City, NY; or Washington DC, with a requirement for at least 3 days of in-person attendance per week. The company emphasizes in-person work to foster innovation and community.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in financial services compliance, with deep experience in banking and fintech environments.
  • Hands-on experience working with bank partners and engaging with state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable banking and consumer protection regulatory frameworks, including Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA), the Truth in Savings Act (TISA), and money transmission laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and scale compliance programs for consumer financial products in a high-growth, technology-driven environment.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, apply sound judgment, and communicate clearly on complex regulatory and product issues.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet key regulatory deadlines.
  • Proven ability to assess and manage compliance risks for novel or undefined financial features, translating evolving regulatory guidance into clear, actionable requirements for product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with product and engineering teams to support the design, launch, and iteration of new banking products, features, and process changes to ensure adherence to applicable banking and consumer protection regulations.
  • Perform compliance risk assessments of relevant regulations, such as UDAAP, Reg E, Reg DD, etc.
  • Review marketing materials, customer communications, and disclosures for regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate due diligence requests and ongoing compliance activities with sponsor banks and other third-party partners.
  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve banking compliance policies, procedures, and controls to align with internal standards as well as external regulatory and partner expectations.
  • Lead regulatory, partner, and internal audits related to banking products, including preparation, response coordination, and remediation tracking.
