Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English, spoken and written.
  • Strong proficiency with computer tools, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience, including three (3) in personal information protection.
  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • Is a member of the Barreau or the Chambre des notaires.
  • Advanced level of English and French proficiency, as the role involves communicating daily with English- and French-speaking clients and partners across Canada via emails and calls.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the business needs of a financial institution, particularly in insurance, savings, and wealth management (an asset).
  • Experience in deploying and monitoring a privacy protection program across an organization (an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Deploy the privacy protection program across the organization by supporting business units in managing confidentiality incidents as well as access and deletion requests.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and advise business sectors to integrate privacy protection from the outset of initiatives.
  • Advise management on privacy-related risks and obligations to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure oversight of the program across the organization by carrying out targeted mandates and monitoring corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports for various governance bodies by gathering and consolidating information from multiple stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in corporate initiatives related to governance, risk management, and compliance.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, analyze impacts, and recommend required adjustments to the program.
  • Design and deliver awareness activities to strengthen the privacy protection culture across the organization.
