This role requires specialized knowledge of financial management in the hospitality industry to review, analyze hotel department budgets, and direct changes as required. The General Manager will collaborate in creating, directing, and executing hotel sales and marketing, revenue optimization, and distribution strategies to achieve desired financial results. The position involves applying principles of hospitality and tourism management to hire, supervise, coach, discipline, and conduct performance evaluations for department heads and key personnel. Communication with ownership regarding results and alignment of strategic plans for future development of the hotel is crucial. The role includes approving hotel department budgets, facilitating the preparation of budgets and forecasts for corporate submission, reviewing forecasts and balanced scorecards, and directing hotel actions to maximize profitability, increase service levels, and improve team member satisfaction. Input and retrieval of information from computer systems for file maintenance, correspondence, and forecast preparation are also part of the duties. This role supervises seven (7) department directors and requires 5% domestic travel.
