About The Position

This role involves working on engineering projects with critical problems that require significant technological advancements and extensive development. The position is responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within an established scope, making authoritative technical decisions and recommendations that significantly impact engineering activities. The successful applicant will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge, leading the development of innovative principles and ideas. They will independently determine improved methods and procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements, working under consultative direction with independent judgment. The role also involves developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities and conceiving/planning investigations of important areas where engineering precedents are lacking in program-critical areas. The position is full-time and located in Savannah.

Requirements

  • Successful applicant will be self-motivated, and able to develop an approach from initial procedure review, data processing, task optimization, and specifically communication of technical information to a wide range of audiences, meeting customer needs.
  • Experience using CATIA V5 to review and/or create/update/modify design engineering drawings/models.
  • Ability to employ design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods as directed to meet the manufacturing, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Candidates should have a willingness to work off-shift and weekend hours on occasion when program milestones require.
  • Experience using SmarTeam
  • Experience in a mechanical/structures MRB/liaison engineering role
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines.
  • Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
  • This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • MRB Experience with interior installation/build issues
  • MRB Experience with composites is a plus
  • MRB Experience with plumbing assemblies is a plus
  • MRB Experience with soft good fitment, build up, and repairs is a plus
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR 25 Subpart H - EWIS based design
  • Experience routing and installing aircraft wiring systems and their integration into aircraft interiors using CATIA V5 EHI workbench is a plus
  • Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison engineers will troubleshoot problems arising from the build, installation, and certification of Gulfstream aircraft interiors.
  • Liaison engineers will create repair instructions and give engineering guidance for resolving damages to aircraft structure and interiors that may occur throughout the completions process of outfitting Gulfstream aircraft.
  • Creation of corrective engineering for new and/or derivative versions of interior furnishings and amenities as part of outfitting new, custom, and in-service aircraft.
  • Liaison engineering responsibilities include updating/revising engineering data, creation of new engineering, and/or coordinating the corrective engineering to relevant parties.
  • Additional duties include developing alternative design approaches, including establishing design verification.
  • Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope.
  • Makes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities.
  • Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge.
  • Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas.
  • Acts independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost and schedule requirements.
  • Works under consultative direction; uses independent judgment to accomplish objectives.
  • Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
  • Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
