About The Position

Assists with the planning, coordination, performance of design, analysis and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of company products and services. This role involves contributing to planning, developing, and coordinating important engineering projects, providing specialized technical assistance, and using advanced techniques to solve complex problems. The engineer will work under limited supervision, with their work reviewed for accuracy and consistency with overall objectives. They will also act as a liaison with representatives outside of their assigned group/area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience credit considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
  • Unique Skills: Custom Cabinetry (galleys, lavatories, vanities, closets, storage compartments)
  • Unique Skills: Interior peripheries (cabin liners, window panels, passenger service units (PSUs), dado panels, and side ledges)
  • Unique Skills: Miscellaneous (water/waste systems, oxygen systems, seating)
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction methodologies for component parts and assemblies.
  • Understanding and demonstration of knowledge of the product development process from concept to production and through sustaining.
  • Competency with Weight and Center of Gravity Analysis.
  • Experience with Part 25 aircraft.
  • Familiarity with Part 135 requirements.
  • Experience with CATIA V5 interconnected with SmarTeam.
  • Ability to employ design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods.

  • Some familiarity with Part 135 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordination, and performance of design, analysis, and liaison engineering.
  • Supporting the development and production of company products and services.
  • Providing specialized technical assistance to team members.
  • Using advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Determining and developing own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
  • Acting as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
  • Designing and building models and prints demonstrating a complete understanding of construction methodologies required for component parts and assemblies to an end item level.
  • Designing installations for custom cabinetry, interior peripheries, and miscellaneous systems, along with necessary airframe modifications to meet load requirements.
  • Performing Weight and Center of Gravity Analysis.
  • Liaising with Operations, Suppliers, Procurement, Quality, and other departments on engineering issues relating to design and validation through prototyping and reliability testing.
  • Conducting assembly/installation, similarity, mounting, and functionality analysis with each configuration developed.
  • Employing design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods to meet manufacturing, quality, and schedule requirements.
