About The Position

Join Altera as a Compensation Analyst! We are looking for a contractor for up to 9 months (up to end of October 2026) to support our compensation team. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to provide compensation guidance during hiring, promotion, and organizational planning processes. Participate in compensation surveys, analyze results, and synthesize insights to inform compensation program design and market positioning. Analyze job roles, salary data, compensation structures, and workforce trends using advanced data analysis techniques to support equitable pay decisions and broader compensation strategy. Support Workday enhancements related to compensation by partnering with HRIS, testing system updates, identifying improvement opportunities, and validating ongoing data integrity. Conduct ongoing data audits to ensure accuracy of job, pay, and employee data across HR systems, driving continuous improvement in data quality and process reliability. Maintain, update, and audit compensation databases, tools, and systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability. Salary Range The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance. $120K - $140K USD We use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or select applicants for the position. Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in compensation analysis or related HR role.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems.
  • Familiarity with compensation survey tools (e.g., Radford, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson).
  • Knowledge of FLSA, EEOC, and other relevant labor laws.
  • Excellent communication skills.
