About The Position

The Department of Classification and Compensation at Georgia State University seeks to hire an experienced Compensation Analyst I to join our team. This position will assist with the coordination of a campus wide classification and compensation program for staff employees.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
One to three years of professional experience in compensation, classification, or a closely related area.
Experience in higher education, state agency or a similarly complex organizational environment.
Experience conducting market pricing, salary analysis, job evaluation, and classification reviews.
Knowledge of compensation principles, salary administration practices, and internal equity analysis.
Experience interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations.

Responsibilities

Processes classification and compensation requests related to reclassifications and/or pay changes on a first in/first out basis.
Conducts analysis of internal and market equity.
Assists with classifying new and existing staff positions; discusses recommendations with managers and supervisors.
Assists with the revisions and/or development of job specifications for new and existing positions.
Updates internal class & comp documentation accordingly.
Assists with conducting workshops and training sessions on classification and compensation systems, policies and procedures.
Assists with monitoring the class & comp email box to address inquiries and provide general assistance.
May assist the team with conducting desk audits, internal offers, and comprehensive classification reviews for a given unit or department.
Assists in the development of classification and compensation policies, procedures, and manuals (internal and external).
Assist with special projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
