The Comparative Medicine Technician I is responsible for basic sanitation/disinfection and maintenance of the animal facility, daily record-keeping, and operation of major laboratory equipment. This role involves performing general husbandry for laboratory animals related to cage washing, stocking inventory of PPE and supplies, and sanitizing laboratory spaces including animal holding rooms, cage wash areas, and associated corridors according to federal, state, and local guidelines. The technician will also be responsible for autoclaving all equipment and maintaining records for autoclave and rack washer temperatures. Daily animal care for small animal species in the animal facility is a key responsibility. Other duties may be required as directed by management.
