About The Position

Imagine! is seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Companion Home Contractor to provide full-time, live-in support for an adult with developmental disabilities in their home in Westminster, CO. This is a long-term, meaningful opportunity to build a supportive, consistent home environment while being part of a collaborative care team. Ongoing support and guidance are provided—you will not be doing this alone. The member is kind, funny, bright, and has a great sense of humor. She enjoys connecting with others and values being treated with respect and dignity. The member communicates using an iPad with a Dynavox communication program, eye pointing, head nodding, and verbal cues. Her iPad is essential for communication, social connection, and daily engagement. The member enjoys visiting the zoo, aquarium, wildlife parks, and animal shelters, music and attending concerts (especially the Backstreet Boys!), using her iPad (games, social media, staying connected), and volunteering and helping others. This role includes hands-on, full care support, including personal care (bathing, dressing, hygiene), ostomy and diaper care, medication administration (via feeding tube), IV support (training provided), transfers using a lift and wheelchair support, and transportation to appointments (accessible van provided). The member requires 24/7 supervision and cannot be left alone. Calm, low-noise environments are important, predictability and routine help the member feel comfortable, clear, respectful adult communication is essential, and supervision is required for safety (including internet use). Additional training and strategies will be provided to support success. This is a live-in position in the member’s home. The ideal provider will offer a calm, structured, low-stimulation environment, consistency and attention to medical routines, and a quiet environment, especially in the evenings. Preferences include no young children living in the home, comfort living with cats, and no dogs due to medical needs. Support is provided by case management, programming support, a strong medical team (Kaiser), speech therapy, and family involvement. This is more than a caregiver position—it’s an opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term relationship and play a key role in supporting the member’s stability, independence, and quality of life.
