About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate, engaging, and reliable caregiver to provide companion care for an elderly gentleman with early-stage dementia in Sag Harbor, NY. This is an ongoing position.
Requirements
- Warm, patient, and engaging personality
- Enjoys interactive activities and keeping clients mentally stimulated
- Comfortable with cooking and meal preparation
- Reliable and consistent with scheduling
Nice To Haves
- Experience with dementia care (preferred, especially early-stage)
Responsibilities
- Providing meaningful companionship and social interaction
- Engaging in cognitive activities such as puzzles, games, and conversation
- Encouraging mental stimulation and routine
- Taking the client for walks and light outdoor activity
- Preparing meals and light cooking
- Light housekeeping related to client care
- Supporting a safe, structured, and positive daily environment
